for Chatber

Follow these 7 steps to connect your WhatsApp Business API and start sending messages in under 10 minutes.

Create Facebook Developer Account

Set up your Facebook Developer account to access WhatsApp Business API

 Goal: Create a Developer account and verify your identity for API access
  1. Go to Facebook DevelopersVisit developers.facebook.com and click "Get Started"
  2. Login with Facebook AccountUse your existing Facebook account or create a new business Facebook account
  3. Verify Your AccountComplete phone number verification and provide business details
  4. Accept Terms & ConditionsReview and accept Facebook Developer Terms and Policies
 Use a business Facebook account, not a personal one. This will be linked to your WhatsApp Business API.

Create a New Facebook App

Create an app that will connect to WhatsApp Business API

  1. Click "Create App"From the Facebook Developer dashboard, click the "Create App" button
  2. Select App TypeChoose "Business" as your app type for WhatsApp integration
  3. Provide App DetailsApp Name: "YourBusiness WhatsApp API"
    App Contact Email: Your business email
    Business Account: Select your business account
  4. Create the AppClick "Create App" and wait for Facebook to set up your app
 After creating the app, you'll be redirected to the App Dashboard where you can find your App ID and App Secret.

Add WhatsApp to Your App

Enable WhatsApp Business API for your Facebook app

  1. Go to App DashboardScroll down to "Add Products to Your App"
  2. Find WhatsAppLook for "WhatsApp" in the products list and click "Set Up"
  3. Start WhatsApp SetupClick "Get Started" on the WhatsApp product page
  4. Create Business AccountCreate a new WhatsApp Business Account or select an existing one

Complete Business Verification

Verify your business to get full access to WhatsApp API

  1. Business InformationProvide your business name, address, and registration details
  2. Upload DocumentsBusiness Registration Certificate, GST Certificate (for Indian businesses), Address Proof, and Identity Proof of Business Owner
  3. Phone Number VerificationAdd and verify your business phone number for WhatsApp
  4. Wait for ApprovalFacebook typically takes 1–3 business days to verify your business
 Business verification is mandatory for production use. Without verification, you can only send messages to 5 numbers.

Collect API Credentials

Get all the necessary credentials to integrate with Chatber

 You'll need these credentials for Chatber setup
  1. App ID & App SecretGo to App Dashboard → Settings → Basic. Copy your App ID and App Secret.
  2. Business Account IDGo to WhatsApp → Getting Started. Copy your WhatsApp Business Account ID.
  3. Phone Number IDGo to WhatsApp → Getting Started. Copy your Phone Number ID.
  4. Access TokenGenerate a permanent access token. Go to WhatsApp → Getting Started → Access Tokens.
  5. Webhook Verify TokenCreate a custom verify token (needed for Chatber webhook setup).

Configure Chatber Account

Add your WhatsApp credentials to Chatber platform

  1. Login to ChatberGo to your Chatber dashboard and navigate to WhatsApp → Accounts
  2. Add New AccountClick "Add Account" and fill in the credentials from Step 5
  3. Configure WebhookCopy the Webhook URL from Chatber and paste it in your Meta Developer Console under WhatsApp → Configuration
  4. Test ConnectionSend a test message from your personal WhatsApp to verify setup
  5. Save ConfigurationSave your settings — you're ready to go!
 Once saved, you can start creating templates and sending bulk WhatsApp messages through Chatber.

Send Your First Campaign

Test your setup by sending your first WhatsApp broadcast

  1. Create a Message TemplateGo to WhatsApp → Templates and create your first template. Submit for Meta approval.
  2. Import ContactsUpload your contact list via CSV or add contacts manually from WhatsApp → Contacts.
  3. Create BroadcastSelect your approved template, choose target contacts, and schedule or send immediately.
  4. Monitor ResultsCheck your Dashboard and Analytics to see delivery status, read rates, and responses.
 Always test with a small group first (10–20 contacts) to ensure everything works properly before scaling up.
